What it does
- One work item per Sentry issue: short ID and title in the summary; culprit, level, Sentry project, events, users affected, first seen and a link in the description.
- Filter by level (fatal, error, warning, info) and by Sentry project slug.
- Labels added automatically,
sentryby default. - A comment when the issue is resolved in Sentry, and another when it comes back (regression).
- Several connections, for example production and staging errors to different Jira projects.
- Every webhook is verified with the integration's Client Secret (HMAC-SHA256). An activity log shows the last 30 deliveries.
Setup
- Install Ulte Sentry Issues for Jira from the Atlassian Marketplace.
- In Sentry, open Settings → Custom Integrations → Create New Integration → Internal Integration. Name it, set Issue & Event to Read and save. Copy the Client Secret.
- In Jira, open Settings → Marketplace apps → Sentry issues and click Add connection. Paste the Client Secret, choose the Jira project, issue type and levels, and save.
- Copy the connection's webhook URL, paste it into the Sentry integration's Webhook URL field, tick the issue webhook and save.
The next new issue in Sentry creates a work item. Older issues are not imported.
Data and privacy
The app runs entirely on Atlassian Forge and makes no outbound calls: Sentry sends events to the app's Forge web trigger and nothing is sent back. Settings, with the Client Secret stored as a Forge secret, the mapping of Sentry issues to work items and the activity log stay in Forge storage on the customer's site. Details in the privacy policy.

Questions
What does it need in Sentry?
A Sentry organization where an internal integration with an issue webhook can be created, and permission to create it.
Does it close the Jira work item when the issue is resolved?
No. It adds a comment, so the team decides when the work item is done.
Can the same issue create two work items?
No. Each Sentry issue is mapped to one work item per connection.
Is it made by Atlassian or Sentry?
No. Ulte Sentry Issues for Jira is an independent app by Ulte, not affiliated with or endorsed by Atlassian or Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry).
